Easter Greetings

Happy Easter everyone!

It has been nearly a month since I first posted in my blog. I do apologize. The past few weeks have been very busy as the time is getting closer. However, I do have some great and exciting news regarding the two trips on which I am going.

For one, I was able to have a Skype conference call with the Rwandan with whom I am partnering as I develop my community project. Through my conversation with him, I was able to gain a better understanding of the current groundwork he had already laid and his vision for the overall project. Our visions were basically the same: we want to see holistic community development achieved in the context of what Christ has accomplished by his death on the cross and through his resurrection.

Another thing, the director of the organization, which is facilitating the trip to East Asia, came to Regent, and, together, we conducted the first training for the trip. He and his crew shared with my mission trip team about the amazing opportunities that God has already laid before us as we prepare to share the gospel with university students in East Asia. One thing that he impressed on me was the sense of urgency needed for this region. While there is always a sense of urgency when it comes to sharing the message of Jesus Christ with others, this was a bit different. He emphasized how there is a special culture of openness and curiosity among the university students right now. As we all know, with the speed of the internet age, this culture will pass away at any point.

Thank you to all who have responded to my initial plea by pledging to support me, both spiritually and/or financially! Currently, including both monies received and those pledged, I am very near the halfway mark in regards to raising the total $6500, which is very exciting. This whole process of raising support, praying through it, and trusting God to provide has already been both exhilarating and humbling.

For those of you who have not yet made a decision in regard to financially supporting me, I challenge you to join me in this venture that God has laid out before us. Please consider giving $10, $15, $30, $50, or more. Honestly, every single dollar counts. Please send your checks to the following address: Clearview Church, PO Box 3049, Chesapeake, VA  23327-3049. Please make your check payable to Clearview Church, and write on the memo line Eric Ketcham/Rwanda or Eric Ketcham/East Asia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to comment and/or email/Facebook me.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support!

Blessings,

Eric
